Curriculum Ethos
The curriculum ethos for Fishtoft Academy is rooted in a commitment to providing a holistic and child-centred education that nurtures the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of each student. Our curriculum is designed to be inclusive, recognising and celebrating the diverse abilities, interests and backgrounds of our learners.
We prioritise a broad and balanced curriculum which incorporates a range of experiences in arts, physical education and extracurricular activities. Our teaching methods are creative, engaging and tailored to various learning styles, fostering a love for learning from the outset and ensuring all children can access the learning.
At the core of our ethos is the promotion of values such as resilience, empathy, ambition, challenge and honesty. We aim to instil a strong sense of moral and social responsibility in our students, encouraging them to become active and empathetic members of their community. At our school differences are celebrated and everyone is welcome.
We actively involve parents and carers in the learning journey, fostering a strong partnership between home and school. Our primary goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning, curiosity and a sense of enquiry that will serve as a solid foundation for future life.
